HYLJE Thermal Rating is referential. Remember to wear baselayer and midlayer according to current weather conditions. The colder the weather the warmer the underwear. We also suggest that you keep in mind in which kind of conditions you are using the overall to choose right kind of product to your purposes. Choose your overall by estimating how actively you will move wearing it.

Breathability rate is announced to functional fabrics which keep the water outside but still let the humidity fade away. There are a few different standards to rate breathability. HYLJE rating can be compared to ASTM E96BW-1995 standard. Grams refer to the amount of humidity which penetrates the laminated fabric in the area of one square meter during 24 hours. The bigger the rate, the more the laminate transfers humidity from inside the gartment to outside of it.
1/4: breathability minimum of 4.000 g/m2/ 24 h: product has low breathability and is suitable for very light exercise.
All HYLJE products marked with drop symbols are water proof. The level of water resistance is indicated with water column. It determines how big pressure of water mass you can suspend over the fabric before it starts to leak. Please notice that the taping of seams and carrying a backbag, for example, also affect to the water resistance of the product.
3/4: water proof over 10.000 mm: protects against heavier rain for longer period of time and sitting on wet a surface for a shorter time.

When purchasing this overall, it is important to note that HYLJE Polar C Junior is specifically designed for snowmobiling in cold conditions. Therefore, it features a D-ring for an emergency switch and a fixed hood. Due to these details, we do not recommend this overall for young children (under 140 cm) engaging in regular snow play.
However, in supervised conditions such as snowmobiling or dog sledding, HYLJE Polar C Junior is an unbeatable companion for cold weather, even for the youngest family members. With proper care and maintenance, a HYLJE overall remains durable even with children’s use. It has been tested in both northern and southern Finnish climates. The black fabric on the lower part is flexible, allowing for easy movement, and the back features a warm foam reinforcement for insulation.
The long zipper pullers are easy for children to use. HYLJE Polar C Junior includes a two-way front zipper and long two-way leg zippers for easier dressing. In strong winds, the double front flap keeps juniors warm, and the soft inner collar material feels comfortable against the delicate skin of the chin. The children’s version also includes an inner pocket and two thigh pockets for storage.
The elastic waistband keeps the overall well-fitted, and reflective strips across the sleeves, back, and chest ensure visibility in the dark. The ribbed cuffs keep out the cold and make it easy to wear long mittens over them. The snow gaiters at the bottom of the legs can be pulled over high-top boots to prevent snow from getting inside. HYLJE Polar C Junior also features a fixed hood with an adjustable drawstring.
The fit of HYLJE Polar C Junior is roomy, allowing for additional clothing layers underneath when needed.
